Welcome to the Corpus Christi Roadrunners
Our club's membership includes walkers, joggers, competitive runners and everything in between. You don't have to be a fast runner to participate in any of the events (see races) or to come out to one of the weekly training runs ( see group runs) . We always need volunteers for runs, if that is what you are interested in.
We have many months of 'running' weather here in Corpus Christi and we like to take advantage of that fact. You'll find that there are runs of all types year round. All CCRR sponsored races have a professional timing company to handle the results.
We have reasonable yearly dues for individuals and families . Our dues help to support many local charitable organizations. Our biggest event of the year is BEACH To BAY , with over 2400 (in 2011) 6-man teams, raising over $52,000 being given to different charities and organizations here in our community, as well as bringing in many visitors to our city.

Come out and participate in one of our events and see what great people runners are !!

Tips for Running Through the Heat of Summer

It takes about 2 weeks for your body to adapt to the heat and cool itself more efficiently... slow your pace & reduce your intensity temporarily through the acclimation period.
Don't wear cotton t shirts... wear loose fitting wicking running gear.
Run early and or run late, take advantage of the coolest part of the day.
Hydrate Hydrate Hydrate. You can freeze part of your water / gatorade in your water bottle and fill it up just before your run.
Try using electrolyte tablets before and during your run.
